Specifically, it displays the full SUMER spectrum and portion of it falling onto the SUMER detector based on the wavelength and reference pixel of a spectral line. The wavelength and reference pixel can be changed via a click of mouse button over the displayed spectrum window. The response of the detector (in terms of total and maximum counts/pix/sec) on different part is also given (so far only for quiet Sun spectrum). It also identifies those lines that are of interest to the SUMER instrument via a click of a button. This program may help you to visually determine where to position your primary line on the detector before you run Klaus' TL_SUMER program for creating SUMER observation programs in SCL. The program is made available as a SUMER contribution software. To run it, simply type "xspect" at your IDL prompt. The program is also available and can be run in the SSW environment. Acknowledgement: Most of low level routines that this program calls are part of the TKI package developed by Dietmar Germerott.
