Reduction
and Analysis of SUMER Data
A generic
description of the SUMER
instrument and data reduction has been written by Luca Teriaca, who has worked at Arcetri
and Armagh Observatories and wrote his thesis using SUMER data. It consists of approximately
40 pages and includes chapters about the spectrograph, data reduction, observations,
and data analysis. A step-by-step guide through the reduction procedures for
SUMER IDL data files has been written by Udo
Schühle. The paper is called SUMER Data
Cookbook.
SUMER data in FITS format (FTS files) are
available from the SOHO
archive. To reduce these data, follow Karine Bocchialini's software available from MEDOC.
