First Post-Launch PHILAE Experimenters Workshop |
||
|
In the friendly and relaxing environment of this hotel located on the grounds of an ancient monastery, we hope to have a focused and fruitful workshop with presentations and plenty of discussions on three topics:
The workshop program will start on 4th April after lunch and will end around noon on 6th April. For those interested we will try to organize visits and excursions to the Grenzlandmuseum Eichsfeld (next to the hotel) on 5th April and to the exhibition "Der geschmiedete Himmel" in Halle (about 2h by car east of the meeting place) after the end of the workshop.
Further details on the workshop including a tentative agenda and the registration form are given on the following pages. Please register with the local organizers by 23 February at the latest.
We are looking forward to see you at the workshop
Jean-Pierre Bibring and Hermann Boehnhardt
All PHILAE experimenters and engineers are invited to participate. We will have some distinguished invited speakers for science talks that should foster the discussion among the workshop participants. The organizers also welcome the participation of interested colleagues from the overall ROSETTA science community, in particular of the ROSETTA orbiter PIs and ESA project representatives. The number of workshop participants, however, is limited.
Oral presentations only are foreseen. Space for poster display will not be available. It is the intention to hold the workshop in a creative atmosphere and as informal as possible in the spirit of collegiality and with flexibility to foster the discussions of the workshop participants. A tentative program for the workshop is given below.
The workshop will be hosted by Victor's Residenz Hotel Teistungenburg. The hotel is located some 30min by car from the city of Göttingen, right at the former border limit between East and West Germany. We have made special arrangements with the hotel management for the workshop organization, as well as for food and lodging in the hotel. The hotel has blocked a certain number of rooms for the workshop participants. For details on the hotel, please visit the hotel web page of Victor's Residenz Hotel. Registration for the workshop including hotel reservation is handled by the local organizer.
The scientific program of the workshop is organized by the PHILAE lead scientists, Jean-Pierre Bibring and Hermann Boehnhardt. The local organization lies in the hands of Susanne Kaufmann from MPI for Solar System Research in Katlenburg-Lindau. The local organizer deals with your workshop registration and the hotel reservation. For contacts please use:

Publishing of workshop papers is not foreseen by the organizers. However, presentations, if provided by the authors, could be made available through a dedicated web page shortly after the end of the workshop.
The meeting will take place in a hotel conference room of suitable size and equipped with overhead and beamer projection, flip chart and pin board. The hotel provides ample space next to the conference center for individual discussions between meeting participants.
