Harness REPORT

1. INTRODUCTION

The CONSERT E-Box signal input/output connector (JE1), and the antenna signal input/output connector (JA1) are electrically connected by a Harness. This document describes the Harness, and the heat treatment (baking) to which it has been subjected.

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

EID-A Issue 1 Rev 1 Dated 15/6/1998 Ref: RO-EST-RS-3001/EID-A

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE HARNESS

The Harness is composed of a coaxial cable with a coaxial connector at each end.

Cable: Coaxial cable

RG 178 M17/93-KX21A

Mini Circuits

Connectors: Coax.Connector Lepra/Con

LENGTH of Harness tip-to-tip = 393 mm

4. Handling environment

Cleanliness 100000

Temperature 20 degrees C

Humidity < 50%

5. Baking conditions

In order to remove contaminants resulting from manufacturing and handling, a bake-out is performed on the harness. The baking conditions are

Vacuum < 10-5 mbar

Temperature 90+10o C

Duration > 48 hours

6. Baking FACILITY

A Thermal-Vacuum chamber at MPAe was used for the bake-out process.

7. Bake-out Step-by-Step
