Hardware
The GDC-SDO infrastucture consists of four 48TB Sun Fire Servers (bottom-middle), a 32-core/256GB-RAM preprocessing machine (top-left), and fast InfiniBand network (top-right), all funded by DLR. This is complemented by the SISI project which includes 160-core compute cluster, two 8-core/32GB-RAM general purpose machines (left), and a 200-slot tape library (right). Figure 2 dipicts the various hardware components, whereas figure 3 shows the system software running at the GDC-SDO.
