An illustration from the article "The suborbital particle aggregation and collision experiment (SPACE): Studying the collision behavior of submillimeter-sized dust aggregates on the suborbital rocket flight REXUS 12" by IMPRS student Julie Brisset and her collaborators has made the front cover of the AIP publication Review of Scientific Instruments.

Start of the extension period for the Solar System School
The Solar System School has existed under the name of "International Max Planck Research School on Physical Processes in the Solar System and Beyond at the Universities of Braunschweig and Göttingen" from 2002 to 2013. As of October 1, the funding has been extended for another six years for a re-launch of the school under the new name "International Max Planck Research School for Solar System Science at the University of Göttingen". The school is led by a newly appointed executive committee to better reflect its scientific collaborations and is run by a new coordinator.

Special IMPRS S3 Colloquium
The Solar System School is celebrating its renewed funding, the work of the departing coordinator, and the arrival of the new coordinator with a special colloquium on September 13. The colloquium includes a science highlight lecture and is organized jointly with the opening of a photography exhibition featuring the winning pictures of MPS's photography contest 2013.
